“Humans don’t project past their own frequency. It’s why you’re so isolated as a species. The beings of other frequencies can only witness what you build and feel what you destroy.”

Earth – Tomorrow – The Singularity:-

The machines have taken over and mankind is cast out.

Millennia later, the inhospitable planet of Redfern is in the process of being made habitable for the proposed rebirth of the entire human race. All is proceeding as planned until Enforcer, Ted Holloway, witnesses the unexpected appearance of a long dead and former friend - A man who can become invisible and immaterial, a man that can penetrate any and all security.

A man whose very existence should be impossible.

As Ted and his superior, Lisa Carmichael, investigate further, they face dangers and creatures that challenge their very concept of reality and also encounter the colony’s caretaker Machine Mind and the human Security Commissioner, both of whom have opposing and intricate agendas of their own.

For the true nature of Redfern is stranger and more deadly than anything Holloway or Carmichael can possibly imagine.

And it could change or destroy humanity forever...

Review: I loved this book. The pace is perfect, the story is original, and it keeps the reader guessing throughout. It's consistent within itself, which is so important in sci-fi, and something so many other writers get wrong. The characters are very well drawn and defined and I particularly liked that the female characters are just as clear and strong and valid as the male characters. It also raises some issues which really make you think. A great read again from one of my favourite authors.

Hunter No More

-ATTENTION-

The Hunter Class Spacecraft designated 'The Amberjack' disappeared during a routine mission to Seek, Locate and Destroy the enemy Machine Mind contingent known as ‘The Ochre’. Conclusion: It was either destroyed by the Ochre or went rogue for reasons unknown. If sighted, approach with extreme caution.

On the planet Borealis, a violent revolution forces Samantha Marriot and her parents to flee their home for the relative safety of ‘The Rainbow Islands’. Once there, Sam discovers a secret her father has been keeping from her all her life, a secret that will change everything.

Meanwhile, The Machine Mind Hierarchy of Earth dispatches a ship to rid themselves of the planet’s troublesome human population. The only hope of a defence lies with a damaged binary Hunter unit that has long since abandoned both its programming and weaponry.

In order for the unit to succeed it must call upon the aid of an ancient enemy, and prove, once and for all, it is a Hunter no more.

Review: A masterfully written sci-fi thriller, this book has non-stop action and yet still finds time for a touching message, plenty of character development and a smattering of well-handled humour. It's absorbing and compelling from the very first page, and had me on the edge of my seat.

I will hurt you more than you hurt me. Death will be a long time coming.

On the frontier planet of Threshold, a hard won truce exists between the native inhabitants and the human settlers. When a murder puts this truce in jeopardy, Marshal Jacob Klein must try to see justice done, whatever the cost.

But Klein has his own problems - an addiction to a fatal narcotic, a disenfranchised son, and a dark secret he has been hiding for over two decades.

For there is a greater threat to Threshold than just a petty civil war. An ancient presence has invaded the planet for its own purposes and Jacob Klein is in no shape to stop it.

Review: A gripping read from start to finish, I really enjoyed this novel. The author has done a great job creating a world of intriguing characters and concepts. His vision unfolds as the story progresses keeping you wanting to read more.

Five Byte Stories

Aliens, Assassins, Clones, Cyborgs, Dictators...
Five dark science fiction stories to enjoy.

Andy Hopkins awakes from cryo-sleep to find his colony ship being pursued by an alien craft and his commander determined to destroy it.

“An assassin that can’t be touched or hurt, who can go anywhere and kill anyone? You think that follows due process?”
Michael Armitage is a ruthless assassin who cannot be stopped. When Michael starts to develop a conscience his controllers are not happy.

John is the clone of a convicted serial killer created for scientific research. The man that created him is determined to make John a killer too.

Davey Weis was involved in a car accident that destroyed part of his brain and prevented him making any decision. When revolutionary neural surgery repairs his brain he is far from normal. But what is normal anyway?

Jacob Landers has ruled the Earth for a thousand years. He has ended war and hunger and set the world onto a path of continuous happiness and prosperity. He is very bored.

Review: I love short stories. I like them because they allow authors to explore risky ideas without committing to a full novel. GD Tinnams's FIVE BYTE STORIES consists of such tales. They are bold and thought-provoking and definitely made me want to check out his other writings.
